About Ellie
Ellie received her Master of Science in Nursing at Georgetown University, in April 2015, and was a Labor and Delivery Nurse for 11 years prior to becoming a midwife. She is originally from Singapore and became engulfed in customer service via her years of services as a flight attendant with the world-renowned Singapore Airlines. She went on to complete a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics and Psychology from the University of Southern California, and then a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from St. Catherine’s University in Minnesota, which started the path to midwifery.
Ellie’s passion for woman’s health developed from her own experiences in labor and birth. Ellie believes that pregnancy is a normal and natural process, and values the importance of labor support. She believes that women can find power and empowerment in their bodies through a partnership in their care, education, informed choice, and proper labor support.
Ellie’s love for women’s health, and labor and birth is shared by her husband, Michael J. Hervey II MD. Together they work as a team and strives to develop a collaborative practice where both of their strengths and compassion can be expressed through the care they provide.
Ellie has two beautiful children with Dr. Hervey, and an older son who lives in Minnesota. Ellie loves cooking, trying new foods, knitting, and spending time with her children. Ellie volunteers her time at Project C.U.R.E. and Feed My Starving Children, and plans to go on a medical mission in the near future.
